Yaklaşık otuz kırk yıl öncesine kadar yüzde 80 köylü, yüzde 20 şehirli olan bir toplumdan, yüzde 80 şehirli, yüzde 20 köylü olan bir topluma dönüştük veya dönüştürüldük. Bu hızlı ve plansız dönüşüm kentlerde çarpık yapılaşmalar ve karmaşık yaşamlar yaratırken, köylere terk edilmişlik, yalnızlık ve çaresizlik getirdi. Çok uzaklara gitmenize gerek yok, hafta sonu günübirlik Başkent Ankara’nın yüz, yüzelli km çevresindeki ilçelere köylere uzanırsanız, bunu gözlersiniz. Beypazarı köyleri ile başladığımız bu çalışmamızı yaklaşık bir yıldır Çamlıdere Kaymakamlığı desteği ile Çamlıdere köylerinde sürdürdük. Ayda bir düzenlediğimiz gezilerle hemen hemen tüm köylere ulaştık. Meşeler, Atça, Ahatlar ile başlayan gezimiz yağmur kar demeden her ay bir veya birkaç köy olmak üzere Elmalı ve Elören Köyleri’yle sonlandı. Bu gezilerimizde Çamkoru’da izcilik kampı işleten üyemiz Murat Demirezen’in önemli desteğini aldık. Çamkoru çevresindeki gezilerimizde mutlaka işletmesine uğradık ve şömine başında çayımızı yudumladık, yemeğimizi yedik. Bu geziler sırasında yine sıkça uğradığımız yerlerden birisi Çamkoru Göleti idi. Hemen her mevsim farklı görüntülerini belgeledik. Fosil ormanı bizi en çok etkileyen yerlerden birisi idi. Dünya’da sayılı olduğunu duyduğumuz hazinemizin değerlendirilmemiş ve yağmalanmış olması bizi üzdü. Gezilerimiz süresince bize rehberlik eden Kaymakamlık çalışanı Halil Can’a Pazar günlerini bize feda ettiği, yol gösterdiği için teşekkür etmeden geçemeyiz. Ayrıca, bizimle ilgilenen, ikramlarda bulunan Muhtarlar’a ve köy halkına teşekkürler. Bu gezilerde, üyelerimiz, bize katılan fotoğraf dostları çok mutlu oldular ve gezileri düzenlediğimiz için bize teşekkür ettiler. Tübitak’tan Bilim ve Çocuk dergileri temin edip bulabildiğimiz az sayıda çocuğa bunları veren Dernek Başkanımız Sami Türkay çocuklar gibi mutluydu.  Köylerde yalnız, hasta ve kimsesiz insanlar önce, kendi yakınları köyleri terk edip kentlere giderken neden bizim köyleri gezdiğimizi anlamadılar, inanamadılar sonra evlerini, yüreklerini bize açtılar.  Gittiğimiz bazı köylerde, yanımızda götürdüğümüz küçük hediyeleri verecek çocuklar bulamayınca üzüldük.  Bastonuyla bizleri selamlamak için zorlukla balkona çıkan veya sokaklarda karşılaştığımız dedeler ve nineler, bizleri görünce mutlu oldular. Yıllar önce sokaklarında çocukların cıvıl cıvıl oynaştığı, akşam olunca günlük işlerin ardından temiz giysilerini giyip köy meydanı çevresinde buluşan genç delikanlılar ve genç kızlar yok artık köylerde. Kapılarına kilit vurulmuş, bir zamanların görkemli konakları terk edilmiş kendi hallerine, anıları hala duvarlarında saklı. Bazıları daha neşeli, çünkü yazları da olsa göçmen kuşlar geliyor yuvalarına. Rahmetli babam şehirde oturan ve köyündeki evine yazın gelen ailelere “Göçmen kuşlar” derdi. Çok az da olsa emekli olduktan sonra köyüne dönüp yaz kış orada oturan aileler yeni evler yapmışlar bahçelerine ve bazı hafta sonları da olsa şehirden gelecek olan yakınlarını özlemle beklerken daha mutlu görünüyorlar.

Gezilerimizden birisine katılan Çamlıdere Kaymakamı Sn. Hüseyin Parlak, güzel bir iş yaptığımızı söyleyerek bizi yüreklendirdi. Sıradışı bir sosyal dayanışma örneği sergilediğimizi düşünerek bizler de mutlu olduk.

The subject of one of the group exhibitions of 5th Ankara Photography Days is “Çamlıdere”, a province of Ankara on its north border with Black sea with its villages, its uplands, its blossoms, and its people and with its houses.

About thirty or fourty years ago, we have been transformed or have transformed ourselves from a society that was 80 % rural and 20 % urban into a society that is 80 % urban and 20 % rural. Creating distorted settlements and tangled lives, this rapid and structureless transformation has also resulted in villages that are left out, lonely and desperate. No need to cover too much distance, if you just stroll around provinces or villages that are about a hundred or a hundred and fifty kilometres away from Ankara, you can easily observe this. This work of ours, which started with the province of Beypazarı, has continued in the villages of Çamlıdere for about one year with the support of District Governorship of Çamlıdere. In the tours organized once a month, we have arrived at almost every village. Our tours started with villages of Meşeler, Atça and Ahatlar, and have continued on to one or few more villages once every month regardless of the weather and finally ended with visiting Elmalı and Elören villages. Within these tours, we received the support of Mr Murat Demirezen a member of our Society who runs a scout camp in Çamkoru. During the tours around Çamkoru, we have visited the camp and had the meal served and enjoyed warm tea by the fireplace. One of the places we visited often during these tours was Çamkoru pond. We took different images of it at every season. The fossil forest was one of the places, which impressed us the most. It was very sad for us to hear that even if it is one of the few that existed in the whole world; this treasury of our natural heritage is looted and not appreciated at all. We cannot thank enough to Mr Halil Can a friend of ours who is a clerk for the District Governorship of Çamlıdere and sacrificed his Sunday holidays for guiding us. In addition, our many thanks go to village headmen leading us through our tours and for their kindness and treats. Our members and other friends of photography were happy to join us in these tours. They extended us their gratitude for organizing these tours. Our President Mr Sami Türkay was happy as a child to present the Science and Kids magazines provided by Tubitak to some children whom we were able to meet there. At first, the lonesome, sick and helpless residents did not understand why we were visiting their villages at a time in which their relatives and acquaintances are leaving their homes to live at the city, then they could not believe what is happening, and finally they opened their homes and hearts to us. It was another deep sadness for us to see that there are not much children left at those villages to whom we took some little gifts and presents to hand out. Old grandfathers and grandmothers who got out to their balconies with difficulty to greet us with their walking sticks or we met on the streets, were very happy to see us. Many years ago in those villages, there were children playing happily on the streets and teenager boys and girls who put on their best cloths and meet each other at the village square after their daily work is finished. They are no longer there. The residences which were once glorious are locked up and left alone, and their memories are still hidden somewhere within their walls. Some of them are more cheerful because even only in the summer, migratory birds are arriving to their nests. My deceased father called the families who reside at the city and arrive at their homes at the village only in the summers, as “Migratory Birds”. Even if there are very few, some families who moved back to their villages after being retired, had built new houses in their yards and they seem more joyful while expecting their relatives who would come and visit them at the weekends.

Mr. Hüseyin Parlak, the District Governor of Çamlıdere encouraged us by saying that we are doing a good thing. We felt quite happy thinking we exhibited an outstanding social solidarity.
