Geleneksel ıslak laboratuvar ve dijital süreçlerin ustaca birleşmesinden oluşan Kubin’in fotografik kolajları, insan figürünün zaman ve mekan hareketi ile ilişkisini bulmaya çalışır. Onun mantığa aykırı olarak soyut ve aynı zamanda detaylı olarak  yeniden yapılmış çok yönlü portreleri anı denizlerine benzer. Kubin’in fotoğrafları, izleyicinin etrafını neredeyse gerçeküstü görsel deneyimle saran nostaljik, ruhani ve unutulmaz düşüncelerle dolu niteliktedir.Bu çok ilginç görseller, insanın görsel hafızasının parçalanmış ve soyut doğasının yapısal analizini yapar. Ve izleyicinin algısını şu anın yakınlığına getirir. O, kuantum fiziğinden, insani enerji dinamiklerinden ve aklın bilinçaltı işleyişinden çok ilham almış ve etkilenmiştir. Fotografik çalışmalarında yaşayan bir canlı olma tecrübesine ait ayrıntılı cevapları sade bir şekilde sunuyor.

Çalışmaları Photo Life ve Photo Selection gibi pek çok dergide kapak olmuş ve Photographer’s Forum ve Canon tarafından sponsor olunan 27. Yıllık Bahar Fotoğraf Yarışması’nda büyük ödülü kazanmıştır. Geçen yıl, bu çalışmasını Fotonoviembre 2007 Bienali’nde  sunmak için  İspanya Tenerif’e seyahat etmiştir. Bu sene, BW Magazin (USA)’in yıllık portfolyo yarışmasında en iyi 15 içinde yer alması ile başladı. (Haziran/Temmuz sayısı #60)

Comprised of traditional wet-lab and digital processes artfully fused together, Kubin's photographic collages attempt to explore the human figure in relation to the movement of time and space. Her reconstructed multi-dimensional portraits resemble memory streams, which are paradoxically abstract and detailed at the same time. Kubin's photographs are nostalgic, ethereal and carry a haunting meditative quality that envelopes the viewer in an almost surreal visual experience. These riveting images deconstruct the fragmented and abstract nature of one's visual memory and bring the viewers' perception into the immediacy of the present. Her holographic process of layering and combining images seemingly transcends reality in an ongoing quest to bear witness, observe the continuous flow, and above all else to create images that are more holistic renditions of conscious experience. She is most inspired and fascinated by realms of quantum physics, human energy dynamics, and the workings of the subconscious mind. In her photographic work she is simply presenting her intimate response to her experience as a living being.

Her work has graced the covers of magazines such as Photo Life and Photo Sélection and was the grand prize winner of the 27th Annual Spring Photography Contest, which was sponsored by Photographer's Forum and Canon. Last year she travelled to Tenerife, Spain, to present this body of work during the biennial event Fotonoviembre 2007. This year began with her placing in the Top 15 portfolios in BW Magazine's (USA)  annual portfolio competitions (june/july issue #60). 

Dita KUBIN Hakkında

Çekoslavak doğumlu sanatçı Dita Kubin şu an Montreal Kanada’da yaşamaktadır. 1975’te doğmuş ve ailesi ile 1981’de Kanada’ya göç etmiştir. Çocukluğu Biritish Columbia Vancouver’da geçmiştir. 1995’te sanatsal kariyeri için Montreal’e taşınmış ve Dawson Kolej’de 3 yıllık fotoğrafçılık programını tamamlamıştır. 1998’den beri sanatçı ve serbest fotoğrafçı  olan  Dita kendini fotoğraf temelli görsel sanatlara adamıştır.

 
About Dita KUBIN 

Czechoslovak-born artist Dita Kubin currently lives and works in Montreal, Canada. Born in 1975, Dita Kubin immigrated to Canada with her family in 1981, where she spent her childhood in Vancouver, British Columbia. In 1995, she moved to Montreal to pursue her artistic career, completing her 3 year program in Photography at Dawson College. Artist and freelance photographer since 1998, Dita has devoted herself to photography-based visual arts.
