1976’da Lüxemburg’da dünyaya geldim. Fotoğrafçılığa  16 yaşlarımda, hediye olarak aldığım bir Nikon F-601 ile başladım . Başlarda binaların fotoğraflarını çekiyordum ve bugünkünden çok farklı olarak ;) her zaman insanların görüş alanımdan çıkmalarını bekliyordum. Makro fotoğrafçılığa da ilk adımlarımı attım. (Kelebekleri hatırlıyorum...) ve hala sürüyor. Sokak ve insan fotoğrafçılığımın tarihi yalnızca 5 yıl evveline dayanır. Etrafta dolaşmak, özel anları aramak ve onları yakalamanın en hoşlandığım şey olduğuna inanıyorum. Işık, renkler, atmosfer ve hepsinden öte insanlar, benim fotoğrafçı kalbimin daha hızlı atmasına neden oluyor. 

Çoğunlukla seyahat fotoğrafları çekiyorum ve kendiminkinden farklı kültürlerden çok etkileniyorum.Bence yeni bir çevrede gözlemci olmak ve sizi “dışarıdan” biri olarak etkileyen küçük detaylara dikkat etmek çok daha kolay.

Kendimi bir “gözlemci” olarak görüyorum ve insanları gündelik yaşamları içinde yakalamaya çalışıyorum. Güzellik heryerde! Poz verilmeyen fotoğrafları seviyorum çünkü, aksi halde insanların özel ve samimi dokunuşlarını kaybettiklerini düşünüyorum. Fotoğraflar, insanların bana baktıkları ve fotoğraflarının çekildiğini anladıkları o birkaç saniye içerisinde çekilir.Ayrıca insanları asaletleri ile göstermenin benim için çok önemli olduğunu eklemek isterim.

Ben amatör bir fotoğrafçıyım ve hala öğrenecek çok şey var. Steve McCurry’nin çalışmalarının hayranıyım. Onun insan fotoğrafları benim büyük ilham kaynağımdır.

Born in 1976 in Luxembourg, I started photography around the age of 16 with a Nikon F-601 that I received as a present. At first I mainly took pictures of buildings and I always waited for people to get out of my view, which is very much different from today ;-). I also did some first steps in macro photography (I remember butterflies…) and still lives. Street and people photography only dates back 5 years ago and I believe this is what I enjoy most: walking around, looking for that special moment and capturing it. The light, the colours, the atmosphere… and above all the people make my photographer heart beat faster.

I mainly do travel photography and feel most attracted by cultures different from mine. I think it is easier to be an observer in a new environment and pay attention to little details that strike you as someone from “outside”.

I see myself as an observer and I try to capture people in their everyday life situations. Beauty is everywhere! I prefer the pictures not to be posed as I feel they might otherwise lose their special and intimate touch. Pictures where people glance at me are taken in a matter of seconds, the very moment they realize that they are being pictured. Further I would like to add that showing people with dignity is very important to me.

I am an amateur photographer and I still have a lot to learn. I am a big admirer of Steve McCurry’s work. His people photography is a great source of inspiration for me.

I hope you will enjoy these pictures and the people from Morocco and Rajasthan (India) essentially.
