Paris’te doğdum ama İsviçre’de büyüdüm. 20 yaşındayken  serbest bilgisayar danışmanı olarak kariyerime başladım. Aynı tarihlerde, Afrika’ya yaptığım seferler süresince fotoğrafçılık denemelerine başladım. Orada farklı tiplerdeki çölleri keşfetmek için aylarca kalmayı isterdim. Bir kaç sene sonra teknik becerilerimi geliştirmeye ve fotoğrafçılık hakkında daha çok şey öğrenmeye karar verdim. Böylece, 2004’te  Cenevre’de bir fotoğrafçılık okulunda bir yıllık bir çalışma programına başladım. Portre, moda ve reklamcılık gibi çeşitli konularda bir dizi atölyeyi tamamladıktan sonra 2006’da “Ruh geçmişi” adlı kendi fotoğraf projeme başladım. Bu proje, orta format makina ve siyah-beyaz filmle çekilmiş uzun pozlamalar içermektedir.

Fotoğrafçılık sürecimi, dünyadaki görsel tabakaların dışından güzelliği bulma ve oluşturma girişimi olarak görüyorum. Minimalist ve her bir görselde bir adamın baskısının olduğu huzurlu ve gizemli bir dünya yakalamaya çalıştım. Her insanın deneyimlerinin, onların kendi çevre algılarını nasıl etkilediğiyle ve  izleyicilerin  hayalgüçlerini harekete geçirmeye özendirmeyle çok ilgiliyim. 

Şu sıralar “Rio’da  sadece bir hayal” adlı yeni serim üzerinde çalışıyorum.

Bu çalışma , Rio de Janerio’da hayal meyal bir anı ve şehir ve insanlar arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırıyor. Copacabana, Ipanema, Lapa...her biri  eşsiz ve birbiriyle ilgisi olmayan, apayrı dünyalardır.

Bu seri, 2009 Kasım’ında Paris’te Lucernaire Tiyatrosu’nda collectif 8reg’art ile çekildi.

I was born in Paris but grew up in Switzerland. At the age of 20, I began a career as an independent computer consultant. Around the same time, I started experimenting with photography during many of my expeditions across Africa. There, I would spend months exploring the different types of deserts. After a number of years I decided to improve my technical skills and learn more about the photography medium. So, in 2004, I started a one-year study program at a photography school in Geneva. After completing a number of workshops in a variety of subjects including portrait, fashion and advertising, I decided in 2006, to start my own photography project called l’âme de fond. This project involved using long exposures, a medium format camera and black & white film.

I see my photography process as an attempt to find and create beauty out of the visual layers in the world. I try to capture a serene and mysterious world, where the places are minimalistic, and where each image shows the  print of man on that particular place. I’m deeply interested in the way each human being’s experiences influences their own perception of the environment, and in tempting viewers to stimulate their own imagination.

At this time im working on a new serie name «only a dream in Rio».

This body of work explore a dreaming moment into the « maravilhosa cidade » of Rio de Janeiro, and the relationship between the city and humans. Copacabana, Ipanema, Lapa… each of theses places is unique and has nothing to do with the others, each of them is a different world.

Part of this serie was exposed in Paris last november 2009  with the collectif 8reg’art at the lucernaire Theater.
