Fotoğrafa olan ilgim 70’li yılların sonlarında ikinci el bir Voigtlander ile başladı ve geniş format bir Linof ile sonuçlandı. Çoğunlukla orta format Mamiya RB67 kullanıyorum. Bu zamana dek çektiğim fotoğrafların çoğu siyah-beyazdır.

10 yıldır çok aktifim ve kendimi eve gittiğimde hemen karanlık odada buluyorum. O günlerde Tri-x ve gren modaydı. Sırf greni artırmak için her çeşit gelişmeyi deniyorduk. Karanlık odada deneyimlerim beni 'Lit-film' ve grafik siyah-beyaza yönlendirdi. Şimdi grenler, grafik görüntünün oluşumuna katkı sağlıyor ve daha fazla bilgi sunuyor.

Karanlık odada çalışma tarzım ve gençlik enerjim 'Lith Photo'yu temel alan Seriografi tekniği ile baskı yapmaya başlamama neden oldu. Bu,bana bölgedeki bir sanat okulunda akşam kurslarında eğitim verme imkanı sağladı.O dönemde diğer kurslarda da karanlık oda tekniklerinde rehberlik ettim.

Volvo kamyonlarında mühendis olarak düzenli bir işim vardı ve akşamları eğitim veriyordum, bir hobiye ayıracak çok vaktim yoktu. Yaratıcılığım bitmişti. Tam zamanlı bir profesyonel fotoğrafçı mı olmayı istediğimi düşündüm ama cevap hayır’dı. Benim amacım keşfetmek ve kendi şekillerimi oluşturmaktı. Sıkıcı işler yaparak hayatta kalmak değildi.

Internetten evvelki zamanlar çok farklıydı. İsveç’in kuzeyinden halka ulaşmak çok zordu. Aile yaşamı, Volvo ve fotoğraf  merakı zamanımı tamamen dolduruyordu. Boş zamanlarımda balık tutmaya gidiyordum. Balık tutma merakım ve doğa yaşam tarzım üzerinde çok önemliydi.

2000 yılında ilk dijital kameram olan Canon G2 ‘yi aldım. Bu yeni bir başlangıçtı. Kamera, balığa giderken hep yanımdaydı ve 25 yıl sonra iyi bir arkadaşla buluşmak beni çok mutlu etmişti. Photo Shopla sıkıştırmaya ve araçları adım adım keşfetmeye başladım.

Daha sonra internetin gücünün farkına vardım. Bu, bana tüm dünyaya fotoğraflarımı gösterme, dünyanın fotoğraflarını görebilme ve esinlenme imkanı sağladı. Photonet’deki infrared fotoğrafları olan bazı sanatçılardan çok etkilendim

Hoya R72Ir filter aldım ve infrared çekimler yapmaya başladım.Bu kolay bir yol değildi ama pratik yaparak ve PS de uğraşarak sonuca ulaştım.

Photomatix programını HDR işlemleri için, Lucis Pro programını ve Buzz Stack adındaki bir 'plugin'i kullanıyorum. Buzz Stack sadeleştiricidir ve görüntüdeki 'blur' benzeri etkiyi oluşturmak için bu programı kullanırım.

Her zaman layerlar ve layer masklarla çalışırım. Bir fotoğrafa başladığım zaman bir Raw dosyadan bir HDR yaparım sonra layerlar ile orijinal dosyayı birleştiririm.

'Opacity' ve 'layer mask' tekniklerini 2 katmanın en iyi yönlerini boyamada kullanıyorum. Aydınlatma ve karartma için “Screen, Multiply”  karışımını ve contrast için “Soft light “kullanıyorum.

My interest for photo started in the last seventies with a secondhand Voigtlander and ended up with large format Linof. Mostly I use the medium format Mamiya RB67. The most of all pictures I taken by that time was B&W.

I was for more than 10 years very active and found me soon at home in the darkroom. During this days it was the Tri-x and a lot of grain how was the trend. We testing all kind of developing just to have the grain to grow.

Experiment in the darkroom took  me to the Lit-film and the graphic B&W now the grain contributed to give the graphic image more information. so the optimum show up to be the xxxx

My darkrooms skill and  young energy make me start with printing Seriography with Lith Photo as based. That gave me the opportunity to start to teach in evening courses at a local Art school,  I leaded during the time other courses in darkrooms technique as well.

I had a ordinary daytime job at Volvo Trucks as engineer and the evenings was booked for teaching, I have no longer a hobby. My creativity dropped. I consider if I wonted to be a full time professional photographer but I fund the answer as no. My trigger was to explore and make my own image and not survive on doing boring jobs.

The time was different before the word wide web. It's was difficult to reach the public from the North of Sweden. The family life and Volvo took the interest and time and I quite with photo, on my free time I went out fishing. The interest of fishing and the nature become very important for my lifestyle.

The year of 2000 I was bought my first digital camera, a Canon G2. That's was the new start.The camera was always with me on my fishing trips and I it was a pleasure, like meeting a good friend after 25 years.I started to cram with Photo Shop and discover step by step the genius tools.

Then I realized the power of www. And the opportunity it gives me to show the hole word my images, and the hole words all pictures come to me and inspire me. I become very inspirited by some artist on Photonet how shows remarkable Infra read images.

I bought the Ir-filter Hoya R72 and started to shot the invisibly read light. That's was not an easy journey to handle the false colors that the files come up with, but with a lot of practice and struggle in PS, the more luck I find in the result.

A résumé of my way of working in PS and and other program.

I use Photomatix for HDR and Lucis Pro and a plugin called buzz stack. Buzz stack are a Simplifier and I use it like a blur effect partly in the images.

I work always with layer and layer masks and often when I started with an image I do one HDR variant from one RAW file and then make a combination in layers with the original file.

I use the opacity and layer mask to paint out the best of the two layers.

I use that result to do some variant of Lucis Pro and  pot the result in as a layer and make a layer mask and more painting.

To do the lighting and darkening I use the blending mood "Screen, Multiply" and for contrast "Soft light".
